Vintor collects the following data when you use our service:

• License plates — that you enter to request vehicle reports. These are not linked to your identity.
• Email addresses — only if you sign up for price alerts or contact us through the contact form.
• Usage data — anonymized data about page visits and click behavior to improve our service.
• Contact form — name (optional), email address, and message content when you send us a message.

We do not collect data through social media logins, and we do not create user profiles.

2. How we use your data

We use your data exclusively for the following purposes:

• Generating vehicle reports based on the license plate you provide.
• Sending price alerts, only if you have opted in.
• Responding to your messages via the contact form.
• Improving our service through anonymized usage statistics.

We do not sell your data to third parties and do not use it for third-party marketing.

3. Data sources

Vintor uses the following public data sources:

• RDW (Dutch Road Authority) — public vehicle registration, APK history, and technical specifications via opendata.rdw.nl.
• Public dealer inventory — listings from publicly accessible dealer websites.

4. Data storage and retention

Your data is stored on servers within the European Union. We apply the following retention periods:

• Contact form — messages are retained for a maximum of 12 months.
• Email addresses for alerts — retained as long as you are subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Usage data — anonymized statistics are retained for a maximum of 26 months.
• License plate queries — not linked to individual users and not stored as personal data.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Right of access (Art. 15) — You can request what data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification (Art. 16) — You can have incorrect data corrected.
• Right to erasure (Art. 17) — You can request deletion of your data.
• Right to restriction (Art. 18) — You can request that we limit processing of your data.
• Right to data portability (Art. 20) — You can request your data in a portable format.

6. Cookies

Vintor uses only functional cookies:

• vintor-lang — stores your language preference (functional, no consent required).
• vtr_premium_* — unlocks your purchased premium report after payment (functional, 24 hours).

7. Third parties

We do not share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. The following external services are used:

• Stripe — payment processing for premium reports. Stripe processes your email address and payment details in accordance with their privacy policy.

Fonts are self-hosted and no external requests are made to Google or other CDN services. Your data is not sold to third parties.
